Abstract

The challenges of the twenty-first century, spanning industry, economy, culture, and education, have reshaped the landscape of language learning, presenting critical hurdles for educators and learners. Aim of this study is to estimate the efficiency of literary studies integration into English learning course. For achieving this aim, the paper utilized theoretical meta-analysis of previous works and qualitative analysis of Jazan University’s students’ scores dynamics in 2023-2024 academic year observed after integration of literary works studies in their academic program. The authors developed new criteria for assessing English learning efficiency, providing this article’s novelty. Results show that literary integration sufficiently improves cognitive and critical skills of English learners; however, creative skills receive significantly lesser improvement. This study suggests that literary integration classes is productive for English learning, however, future studies could further advance this study area with proposing another ways for better development of students’ creative skills.
