Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the global concept of employee engagement in the modern world by understanding conceptual, theoretical and research aspects. This aim was achieved using the method of extensive bibliometric analysis of the existing literature through the application of VOSViewer 1.6.18 Software, which was used for analyzing 941 articles collected from the year 2002 to 2023 from the Scopus database. The results clearly indicate that the concept of employee engagement has emerged as a relevant topic starting in the 2010s and reached its peak in the 2020s; therefore, studies of employee engagement can be acknowledged as a productive research trend that can be addressed by future scholars investigating modern challenges in human resource matters and labor organizations. The novelty of this study is the meta-analysis of employee engagement, which verifies the trendiness of this concept in modern academic reality. The practical significance of this study lies in its applicability to future researchers in the area of human resources and working management studies as a scope guidance.
