Abstract

This study aims to investigate PowToon learning media in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes. To achieve this goal, the study utilizes media validity obtained from validation carried out by media experts and material experts, media feasibility using small group trials and large group trial stages, effectiveness of increasing motivation using average analysis, and student learning outcomes carried out using normalization analysis-gain (n-gain), paired t-test analysis, and unpaired t-test. The research results show the following: 1) Research and development produces PowToon learning media to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. The results of the PowToon media validity are included in the very valid category, with an average score of 4.96 by media experts and an average score of 4.95 by material experts with a very valid category; 2) the assessment of the feasibility of PowToon media is classified in the very feasible category with an average of 96% for small group trials and 98.8% for large group trials; 3) PowToon learning media has been proven to be effective in increasing motivation in Civics learning with an average percentage result of 93.6, which is classified as very good; and 4) PowToon learning media has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes in Civics learning, with results at the post-test normalized-gain (n-gain) analysis stage of learning outcomes in the experimental class with a value of 0.57 in the medium category. Post-test paired t-test analysis stage of experimental class learning results with a value of 7.18 in the significant category.
